The star of the cult series is accused of rape: the situation looks controversial, but contracts with him are broken

The leading ladies of the HBO series Sex and the City and the recently released sequel Just Like That expressed support for women who accused their co-star, actor Chris Noth, of sexual assault, reports BBC.

History Producer Harvey Weinstein launched a wave of accusations of Hollywood celebrities of sexual harassment.

Now Sex and the City star Chris Noth is at the center of the scandal.

Noth's co-star on the set, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), posted a joint statement on Twitter, also signed by Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte).

“We are deeply saddened by the allegations against Chris Noth. We support women who have come forward and shared painful episodes of their lives. We understand how difficult this is and thank them for that,” the tweet read.

To date, three women have accused Not of sexual assault and harassment.
The 67-year-old actor himself maintains his innocence, calling the accusations “categorically false.”

All accusations were made almost simultaneously shortly after the release of the sequel “And Just Like That” - the continuation of “Sex and the City”.

The role of Mr. Big in these films is Chris Noth's most famous work.

According to the actor's representatives, the timing of the charges raises many questions.

However, the women themselves say that they decided to break the silence, simply by seeing the face of their abuser on the screen again.

The charges against Chris Noth date back to 2004, 2010 and 2015 and were made exclusively in the press.

Los Angeles police said they are not conducting an investigation, as they have not received any official requests.

The first two alleged victims shared the details of their meeting with Noth with the Hollywood Reporter under the pseudonyms Zoe and Lily.

Zoe is now 40 years old.
She said she was 22 when she was raped by an actor in her West Hollywood apartment in 2004.

Lily is currently 31. She claims that Noth raped her in his own apartment in New York when she was 25 and he was 60.

In addition to interviews with the alleged victims themselves, the extensive material of the publication also contains testimonies of Zoe's former boss, Lily's girlfriend, as well as employees of the rape victim assistance center, who reportedly provided assistance to one of the girls at that time.

Despite the lack of direct evidence of the actor's guilt, irreparable damage has already been done to his reputation.

On December 21, it became known that the CBS broadcaster and Universal Television terminate the contract with him for further participation in the series The Equalizer, where he plays the former director of the CIA.

The company announced that the actor will appear in only one more episode.

According to some reports, in just a few days since the first indictment, Noth has already lost $ 12 million.
Earlier, the Peloton company removed advertising videos with his participation from social networks, and it is also reported that several more contracts with him have been terminated.

Representatives of Nota have not yet commented on the CBS's decision.

The actor himself denies all the accusations against him, calling them an absolute lie.

“These stories could be 30 years ago or 30 days ago. “No always means no, and I have never crossed that line,” the actor told the Hollywood Reporter, which published the first testimony of the alleged victim.
