A Florida resident was killed in an apartment she rent on an Airbnb apartment in Costa Rica.

The body of a missing South Florida resident was found near the house in which she rented an apartment on Airbnb for a vacation in Costa Rica.

Carla Stefanyac’s father identified her December 4 body, writes Miami Herald.

“Now it's official. Words cannot express the devastation faced by her family and friends. We want the world to know that we will never forget Carla. We will never forget the joy she brought into our lives, the times she made us laugh. We will always be with her, and we know that she will always be with us,” the father of the deceased wrote on the social network Facebook.

He added that the family of Carla will do everything to bring the case of her murder to the end, and also thanked everyone for their support.

The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Department also stated that the body belongs to 36-year-old resident of Hallanddale Beach (Florida), who went missing during a vacation in San Jose on the night of November 27. Her body was found on December 3 near the apartment building where she stopped, the criminals put it in a plastic bag and buried it.

Around 23: 00 3 December, investigators detained a security guard of a residential complex as part of a murder investigation. Costa Rican government spokesman Walter Espinosa said the guard was identified as 32-year-old Bismarck Espinosa Martínez, a native of Nicaragua, who immigrated to Costa Rica in June. According to law enforcement officers, Martinez is the main suspect, since his testimony in this case is extremely controversial.

Blood was found in the apartment she rented. The police suggests that she was killed there. Investigators also searched the apartment of a security guard located next to the apartment, which was rented by an American. The fact that there was discovered, not reported.

Stefanyac, who worked for Dania Beach Insurance Agency, celebrated her birthday in Costa Rica, along with her sister-in-law April Burton went on vacation with her. Stefanyac was supposed to get on a plane flying back to Miami on November 28, but did not appear on the flight.

After her disappearance, thousands of people participated in her search on the Internet, distributing the #FindingCarla hashtag.

Her family and friends, who live in Tampa, could not contact her after she sent them a message on the evening of November 27, noting that electricity was periodically lost in the apartment she rented. The daughter-in-law Stefanyac returned to Florida on the morning of November 27, Karla took her relative to the airport.

The investigation found that during the day a woman looked at the sights and went shopping, and in the evening she sent photographs to relatives. They received the last message from her around 20: 00 27 November. Her flight to Florida flew to 1: 00 28 November, but the woman did not appear at the airport.

Stefanyac immigrated to Tampa from Venezuela in 2000. In 2012, she moved to South Florida.
