Residents of the village of Maloye Perekopnoye in the Saratov region have been dismantling an overturned truck with boxes of vodka for a week now. According to the Rossiya-24 TV channel, there were a total of 20 thousand bottles of vodka in the car.

The incident with a wagon that had a wheel burst occurred on the Volgograd-Samara highway, but most of the bottles, despite the accident, remained intact.

The driver of the truck, according to Perekopnoye activists, fled the scene of the incident, after which they decided to “safeguard” the valuable cargo.

“Everyone goes, stops and takes vodka,” explains one of the local residents.

The “rescue operation” in the village of Maloye Perekopnoe, where only 604 people live, could have been continued, but the local police officer became interested in the case and began searching for witnesses and accomplices in the theft of alcohol, which disappeared without a trace in the middle of the M10 federal highway.

As reported by the police of the Saratov region, the vodka sent for inspection turned out to be fake.

“During the inspection of the crime scene, fragments of glass bottles with excise stamps were seized. The examination showed that the excise stamps were not made at the Goznak enterprise and were falsified,” said "Komsomolskaya Pravda" Dmitry Rasskazov from the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Saratov region.

Currently, police are looking for the owner of an unusual cargo.
