The wife and mother of three became the winner of the alligator hunt this season in South Carolina, writes Miami herald.
Laura Robinson Griffin from Belton, South Carolina, killed a “swamp reptile” 3,8 meter long that is almost three times longer than itself.
“People always ask me, am I scared? No, I wasn't scared. I was scared,” said Griffin, who works for the Anderson County Board of Elections.
“We were on a boat, and when he got closer, I saw that the alligator was almost the size of a boat. I shot him three times,” she added.

Belton is located in 200 km (125 miles) south of the city of Charlotte, in Anderson County. However, the hunt took place in the bay of Lake Maltree, north of Charleston on September 9. Griffin was with a group of 10 other hunters, including her husband Darrell, an experienced alligator hunter.
On the same day, the group killed two more alligators, smaller in length.
Griffin said that she had been chasing the alligator for almost two hours while the hunters sat in silence so as not to frighten the reptile.
According to the woman, the alligator had so much meat that the family had to use the refrigerator in two houses. However, neither the boot nor the wallet from it will be due to the high cost of the process of removing and creating leather.
In South Carolina, there are over 100 thousands of alligators. The hunting season for them began on September 9. They can be hunted only in public waters, and not in national parks or reserves. Hunters can take their meat, but they are forbidden to sell it.
Last year, hunters killed the 394 alligator for the hunting season. The longest alligator was the 3,9 meter. He was caught in the Pi-Dee area.
