A woman gave birth to a child in the toilet of the plane: the baby was named Sky

According to a Facebook post by Frontier Airlines, the woman gave birth to a healthy baby in the toilet on board the plane. The edition told in more detail CNN.

A passenger went into early labor on a flight from Denver to Orlando, according to a May 17 report. Flight attendant Diana Giraldo helped her to the bathroom and delivered her.

Captain Chris Nye, who piloted the plane, said in a statement that the airliner headed to Pensacola Airport in Florida and then continued on to Orlando after the mother and child were able to disembark with the help of medical staff.

“The whole team did a really great job,” Nye said. “The air traffic controller also did a great job suggesting the Pensacola airport and setting up the boarding gate for us, as well as the paramedics. It was a job well done and I was happy to see how everyone worked together.”

While the baby's gender and name have not been released, Frontier said the newborn's middle name is Sky ("sky") due to the unusual circumstances of his birth.

This baby is not the only child born in the air in recent years.

Though being born on an airplane can sometimes have fun perks. A baby named Haven, born on a Cebu Pacific flight from Dubai to Manila in 2016, received a million miles from a Philippine airline. True, he is still too young to use them, so the airline said the miles could be shared with his family members.
