US embassy employee who joined Ukrainian army dies in battle with Russians

@USEmbKyiv is grieving the loss of our dear colleague Volodymyr, who took leave from his job as an Embassy bodyguard to rejoin the army and defend Ukraine. We will never forget his kind spirit, dedication, and bravery. Our deepest condolences go to his family and friends. pic.twitter.com/KyAB1ISTva

“We are deeply upset by the loss of our dear colleague Vladimir, who left his post as an embassy security guard to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defend Ukraine. We will never forget his kindness, loyalty and courage. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends,” the embassy said in a statement.
