Biden's meeting with Zelensky was postponed for the second time: what is the reason

The meeting of US Presidents Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine was postponed again. It will now take place on September 1st. This was announced by the adviser to the head of the President's Office Mikhail Podolyak. The edition told in more detail "LIGA.Novosti".

He stated that there are no "ambiguities" in postponing the date of the meeting.

“The decision to meet the presidents on September 1, and not on August 31, is absolutely protocol and is explained, among other things, by the fact that the last day of summer is also the last day of evacuation procedures from Afghanistan,” Podolyak said.

He argues that the US needs to focus on this very issue that day.

“It is certainly more convenient for Ukraine to hold a meeting of leaders in an information environment the next day. When exactly will Ukraine become a key newsmaker on the American agenda,” said the adviser to the chairman of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
