A 43-year-old Florida woman was seriously injured when she was attacked by an alligator while walking her dog. Writes about it New York Post.

A woman was walking with her dog near a small lake in Pinellas County in Palm Harbor on Tuesday evening June 8 when an 8-foot (2,4 m) alligator pounced on her.

She was taken to hospital with severe injuries to the lower part of her right leg.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officials said they were able to find and trap an alligator.

Gene Vance, who lives in the area, said he witnessed the attack.

“I was walking with my dog ​​and suddenly I looked back and saw this woman falling into the lake. She must have been walking her dog close to the edge of the lake,” Vance suggested.

“It appears the alligator tried to grab the dog, but the woman removed the animal very quickly. "Then she slipped and the alligator bit her leg just below the knee and then went back into the water," he said.

“I saw that same alligator just sitting on the grass,” Vance added. - This is a fairly large amphibian. Yeah, I've seen it a couple of times, so I always try to avoid being in that place or any place that's close to water because it happens."
