An incredible combination of circumstances saved the life of a diver after a shark attack in Florida
The diver, who was attacked by a shark in Florida, was rescued by a group of medical workers who ended up in a boat nearby. Writes about this ABC News.
An 40-year-old diver was attacked by a shark while diving. Fortunately, medical workers were on the fishing boat next to him. This was told by Kyle Evans - employee of the rental of fishing boats Hot Shot Charters.
The man did not know that in the boat he was climbing there were several nurses who were ready to help him in this emergency. On the boat were Christine Haines and Glaizua Martin, a pediatric nurse and an operating nurse, respectively, who work at Stone Oak Hospital in San Antonio.
According to Evans, the bite was so strong that the victim’s hand was "disfigured" and he was "covered with blood to the very feet."
Nurses immediately placed a tourniquet on the diver's arm, and Evans himself helped cleanse the wounds.

“He was wearing a wetsuit, but there were bite marks in about three different places,” said Haynes, who was on vacation with Martin in Miami. “His muscles and skin were torn. There was a lot of blood."
Nurses said they eventually found a first aid kit to help the diver, but there were almost no necessary drugs there.
“Everyone remained extremely calm. It was a team effort. Everyone on deck helped us,” Haynes said. “Even the guy who got bitten by the shark was pretty calm, which helped us a lot.”

The captain of the boat, Sig Ozols, called an emergency service, and within 20 minutes they were met by paramedics in the Bill Baggs Cape Park, Florida.
Ozols said he believed fate had led them to the right place at the right time.
“We were there for a reason, and we accomplished our mission,” the captain said. “And I hope the diver is okay.”
"When we asked what happened, he just kept saying 'shark' and 'help me' over and over again," Haynes said.
The victim is still in the Jackson Hospital in Miami.
Two more shark attacks occurred in northern Florida, near the entrance to New Smyrna Beach. An 20-year-old woman was bitten by the hand while surfing, and an 21-year-old woman was bitten by the right leg.
