The vice president of the news company dropped from the hotel's 20 floor while shooting
According to reports, the executive director of the news company fell and crashed to death while taking pictures.
44-year-old Eric Janssen, vice president Sandusky Newspaper Group in Memphis, Tennessee, came with friends to take part in a tour that offered "backstage" access to more than 200 buildings.
Having lost his balance during filming, he fell from the 20-th floor of the hotel Londonhouse and fell on the roof of the sixth floor.
“He died doing what he loved,” said his sister, Cynthia Vukmer.
“He found beauty in incredible places,” she said. I think something really caught his attention and his imagination.”
Karen Golightly, a friend from Memphis, said she did not know what had happened, but stressed that Janssen was aware of the danger.
“We talked a lot about safety,” she said. “One of his friends fell in Memphis last year, and after that his attitude towards safety really changed. ... He was no longer such a daredevil.”
Relatives of Eric Janssen describes him as a devoted family man who loved his work. He has three children left - 22, 17 and 14 years.
“He was very passionate about life and his friends and family,” Sister Vukmer said. — He was passionate about photography. … He was just a wonderful, wonderful guy. He was very, very, very loved by his family and many people. He was my hero."
Vukmer added that she learned about his death from Facebook.
“I was amazed at the number of comments and messages from people,” she said. “It’s comforting.”
