Vakhtang Kikabidze gave the entire fee for his anniversary concert in support of the Ukrainian army

In honor of his 84th birthday on July 19, Vakhtang Kikabidze performed at an anniversary concert in Batumi, dedicating his program to Ukraine, reports So simple.

The event was sold out, the audience at the performance enthusiastically sang in chorus and accompanied the concert with a long standing ovation.

The singer supports Ukraine and does not hesitate to openly declare this: “Now all Ukrainians need to hold hands and sing one song - for the freedom of their native state. Because if you don’t, things can end very badly.”

All the money that Vakhtang Konstantinovich collected at the anniversary concert, he transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The singer bought a minibus with dry rations for the Ukrainian military.

“If I were at least 20 years younger, I would have fought, I would have been in Ukraine. I shoot well ... I say this from the bottom of my heart! I am a Ukrainian in my brain, and during these 10 days of the war, I became 10 times more Ukrainian than I was. I love you all very much, my brothers and sisters. I wish you happiness, a peaceful life with a song and the restoration of the country,” said the Georgian actor and film director Vakhtang Kikabidze in the very first days of the war.

“Ukrainians are a courageous people. I have a very good Russian-language concert program. When I want to perform it, I go to Ukraine!” - the singer admitted in one of his interviews. Vakhtang Kikabidze plans to perform in Ukraine soon to please and inspire people who are having such a hard time right now.

“Even if my head is gray, I have nothing to be afraid of winter, not only my sadness, my years are my wealth,” Kikabidze reminds with his songs, with his statements about the most important. Spirituality is what will save a person in the most difficult hour. “You have to believe in God to have hope,” says the artist.

“Why am I singing? Because I really love the blue sky of Tbilisi. Its mountains, sun. When I feel good, I sing. When I feel bad, I still sing. My song was born from this earth, this sun. From my people. I sing and feel that old age is gradually creeping up. I remember my childhood. It becomes very sad, but I still sing,” says Kikabidze.
