Snowy winter has come to South Florida. A PHOTO. VIDEO
The cold weather, which covered most of America this week, has finally arrived in South Florida. Its inhabitants need to dress warmer by the end of the working week.
On Thursday, temperature in Fort Lauderdale was + 3 degrees Celsius, the lowest recorded temperature since December 2015, and in Miami, thermometers showed 6 degrees of heat — the coldest temperature since February 20.
For example, a Pensacola resident found that the top of his open-air pool was frozen.
Weather forecasters predict frosts from midnight until Friday morning in Broward and Miami-Dade.

Snow warning for the first time in 28 years fell out on Wednesday in Tallahassee, relevant on Thursday and for Broward.
“Yesterday the temperature dropped from +25 to +10 by noon. I actually had to send the guys home because it was too cold and it was raining,” Eros Escobar, a construction site manager in Miami, said yesterday. “In terms of preparation, no one has winter clothes, they buy a few things and then come to work as usual.”
Broward County declared an emergency situation due to cold weather from 18: 30 evenings to 9 on Thursday morning, Friday, and from 18: 30 to 7: 00 on Saturday. The county also opened three heating stations and a shelter for homeless residents at this time.
- The city administration building of Pompano Beach (100 West Atlantic Blvd.) is a heating station.
- Salvation Army Fort Lauderdale (1445 West Broward Blvd.) - warming center and shelter.
- Broward Hollywood Information Center (2056 Scott Street) - heating station.
- The Homeless Support Center (920 NW 7th Avenue) is a heating unit.
- Center for the Homeless (1700 Blount Road) - heating point.
County officials say that the hours and dates when they are open may vary due to weather conditions. For more information, call: 954-563-4357.
Miami-Dade officials have not yet announced the opening of any shelters, but have reminded residents to be careful when using home heaters:
- Keep everything that can ignite at least one meter from the heating equipment.
- Keep the meter "no children zone" around open lights and heaters.
- Never use the oven to heat your home.
- Remember to turn off portable heaters when you leave the room or go to bed.
Over the weekend, weather forecasters promise relative warming.
Recall that the cold front has covered most of the US territory, bringing heavy snowfalls and record or close to record temperature minima. 8 people have already died due to severe frosts.
