The incident occurred on August 9 around 5: 45 in the morning at Dewey Bridge Campsite, located along the Colorado River in Moab, writes New York Post. The animal has bitten a child on its left cheek and ear, according to a statement from the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources.

The guy was taken to the Moab Emergency Department, and then transferred to the hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Local officials collaborate with the US Department of Agriculture's wildlife department and use dogs and traps to catch the bear. His footprints were found in the sand along the river.

It is not clear how long searches will continue, but the authorities intend to use all possible search options and available resources.
