In Ukraine, a blogger staged her abduction to lure a ransom from her lover in bitcoins

The popular Kharkov blogger Yekaterina Yakimenko (Yakimiv), known on the network under the pseudonym Tigra, staged her abduction in order to obtain a ransom of 5 bitcoins. The details of the unusual "abduction" were shared by the publication "Focus".

On June 27, police received a statement from a blogger's friend that the 23-year-old Instagram star had stopped answering calls.

The very next day, criminal proceedings were opened under the article on premeditated murder marked “missing”. Militiamen traced the car in which the girl was taken away by the license plate and established that the car was in Kiev, and money was debited from the “stolen” bank card in restaurants and shops in the capital.

Later, the officers, according to another blogger Yevgeny Zub, learned that the girl faked her abduction with her lover from Kiev, and the goal of the young people was a ransom in the amount of 5 bitcoins ($ 173).

They planned to take this money from an influential blogger sponsor from Russia. He has already bought her luxury real estate in the UAE, as well as Porsche Macan and Bentley Bentayga cars.

The girl was detained together with the boy and taken to the Kharkiv pre-trial detention center. She was sent into custody with the right to post a bail of 3 million hryvnia ($ 110 thousand). The 23-year-old blogger's Instagram account has now been closed.

The case is being investigated under article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine as a fraud. The suspects face 5 to 12 years in prison.

This is not the first scandal in which the girl falls. On New Year's Eve, the blogger was caught drunk driving a Porsche. The girl claimed that a sober driver was driving, but he "went somewhere."

She and her friends also staged a rout in a Kiev hotel. The girl posted several stories on which she and her friends drank and had fun at the hotel. The footage shows painted walls and a mirror in the bathroom, a floor flooded with water, and upturned furniture.
