In Tennessee, an 4-year-old boy saved an 2-year-old sister who fell into a pool

"Andy came up to me and said, 'I fell in the pool!' She was completely wet. Looking at Gray, she saw that there wasn’t a dry spot on him either. Then I panicked,” said the mother of children from Knoxville, Tennessee. Her 4-year-old son saved her 2-year-old daughter when she fell into their backyard pool.

Laura Forrester moved with her family to a new home. She was sure that she had taken all appropriate precautions to protect the pool in the backyard, she says. Today.

“We put up a security fence, and the children knew not to go there without their parents or a nanny,” the woman told the NBC affiliate. — They also installed sound signals on the doors. We thought we had taken all the precautions.”

Despite the efforts, the 2-year-old daughter Andy managed to get around these obstacles.

She fell into the pool when her mother left. The girl struggled to stay afloat. Fortunately, her brother Gray, who was then 4 of the year, was nearby.

The boy jumped after his sister.

"I grabbed her tummy and tried to lift her up so she could breathe," now 5-year-old Gray Forrester explained to NBC Radio Knoxville.

Andy said her brother was able to get her out of the pool.

“He saved me,” the little girl admitted.

Their mother was in shock.

“It happened so quickly: they were with me just 5 minutes before the incident,” Laura is amazed.

According to the woman, a real miracle happened.

“I think at that moment my 4-year-old gained the ability to respond as if he were being helped by God. God was certainly with my children that day,” she said.

According to Forrester, when they first arrived at this house, the famous Olympic skier Bode Miller and his wife Morgan lost their daughter in the same situation, so Laura tried to be as careful as possible.

“We literally hammered it into their heads that they should never go out there without an adult,” the woman says excitedly.

Andy will now be able to save himself if he falls into the water again. The girl’s mom immediately after what happened recorded her for swimming lessons. She hopes that other parents will hear her story and do the same.

“If you hear this story and live near water, a lake, a pool, then consider enrolling your children in swimming lessons. After all, this can still happen, even despite all precautions,” the woman said. “And I hope it saves someone else’s life.”
