El Ninho cyclone intensifies in USA
In the US, the El Niño cyclone is gathering strength, threatening natural disasters. Scientists warn that this year the consequences will be much more serious than in past decades.
Climatic processes occurring now in the center of the Pacific Ocean threaten with hurricanes and cyclones of unprecedented power in the autumn-winter period in the western part of the USA. Such predictions are made by scientists from the Climate Prediction Center of the US National Weather Service.
The findings of experts are based on a significant increase in temperature in the upper water layer. This phenomenon is called El Nino, which in Spanish means “baby”. The cyclone is gaining momentum and its results will be the most powerful hurricanes in California and other western states over the past few decades.
The maximum damage from El Niño was recorded in California in the summer of 1997, when the violence of the elements attracted the attention of the entire international community. Scientists believe that this year the damage will be much more serious, first of all it relates to floods, and NASA specialist Bill Picert calls the cyclone El Niño Godzilla, given the predicted power.
