Three weather students die in Oklahoma while hunting for tornado
Three University of Oklahoma meteorology students died in an accident after chasing a tornado in Kansas on April 29 evening, reports FoxNews.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said students were hit by a truck in northern Oklahoma after hydroplaning (water entering the tire-to-road contact area while driving at high speed on a wet road) on Interstate 35 in Tonkawa while returning home after chasing a storm.
Nicholas Nair, 20, Gavin Short, 19, and Drake Brooks, 22, were killed in the crash, which happened just before 23:30 p.m., according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report. All three were weather students at the University of Oklahoma.
