In New York opened the "Month of the Russian Heritage of America"
In the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York opened the 13-th festival "Month of the Russian Heritage of America." The honored guests of the largest event of the Russian-speaking community were US Senator in New York, Chuck Schumer, choreographer American Ballet Theater Alexey Ratmansky, businessmen-philanthropists Alex and Olga Rovt, fashion designer Elena Yarmak.
Also, the event was attended by singer Abraham Russo with his family and actress Vera Glagoleva, who brought to new york premiere of his new film "Two Women".
In addition to well-known people, the event was attended by journalists, businessmen and public figures. Thus, the opening of the festival, once again, became a platform for establishing contacts among Russian-speaking immigrants. In addition to snacks and alcohol, guests were treated to organ music and gifts from sponsors.
After the completion of the official part and the presentation of awards for their contribution to strengthening ties between American society and Russian-speaking immigrants, guests were invited to an “after-party” at the penthouse of fashion designer Elena Yarmak on 5th Avenue, where her boutique is located. Among the designer's furs and jewelry, the guests who moved in continued their conversation over cocktails and appetizers. According to Russian custom, a line lined up behind them.

The annual festival “The Month of the Russian Heritage of America” was established on the initiative of the “Russian-American Foundation” with the participation of the city of New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Daily News newspaper in 2003.
