In New York, a group of scammers who steal money and documents from mailboxes are operating, DNA Info reports.
The 51-year-old victim contacted the police, who sent 2 mail for a total of $ 1470.
From the report it follows that the victim threw transfers into a mailbox located at the intersection of West 136th Street and Broadway, December 5 and February 14. However, his landlord last week contacted him and reported non-receipt of rent.
A man turned for help to the New York 19 February police. Law enforcement officers tracked the cashing of a money transfer to Pay-O-Matic in East Harlem on 2351 Second Ave.
During the investigation, the suspect could not be identified, as the robber did not leave any contacts and immediately cashed the transfer. The police are investigating.
The bodies learned that the scammers glue the sticky substance on the inside of the lid and thus “catch” the letters.
In the case of "catching" envelopes from mailboxes detained three. This happened after residents of Washington Heights and Inwood noticed several mailboxes with adhesive along the inside of the lid and reported this to the police.
