Now the doctor must return to the 20 court of December. His lawyer, Barry Weinstein, said the charges were "unfounded."

“He will be acquitted,” he added on Monday.

Braverman, who once boasted that Governor David Paterson and actress Suzanne Somers were among his patients, wrote several books on aging and hormones, including "Younger (Sexier) You" and "The edge effect».

He was prosecuted by patients who claimed that the doctor attributed expensive medical treatment to them, such as “chelation therapy” (“chelation therapy") - a solution that is introduced into the bloodstream in order to dissolve heavy metals. Patients argued that this procedure did not have a positive effect.

The State of New York State Department of Health warned that Braverman’s medical license could be revoked.
