In Nevada, a woman miraculously survived in a car bombarded by snow.
In Nevada, police found an 48-year-old woman inside a car that was completely covered with snow when a snowplow collided with it, clearing the street.
According to the official representative of South Lake Tahoe, Chris Fiore, a woman is alive and well.
The driver of the snowplow and the police who arrived at the call began to dig out the car. Then they had no idea what was inside the person until they saw the hand pressed to the window, Fiore said.
“The car was completely buried under the snow ... and if the snowplow had not accidentally hit it from behind, we would be talking about a completely different matter,” he said. “She could have suffocated.”
The police assumes that the woman is homeless and lives in her car. She told the officers that she had been in the car for only a few hours.
“Judge for yourself by the amount of snow on the roof of this car,” Fiore said. “You could say she was there for more than one day.”
It also turned out that the accident was due to the fact that the woman’s car was illegally parked on the street. This is a chronic winter problem in South Lake Tahoe.
Fiore said that because of illegally parked cars it is difficult to remove the snow after each snowstorm.
As Lt. Shannon Laney says, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department reports that every time a snowplow hits a car covered with snow, its driver calls the police to report and then tow the car.
Laney, who works at the South Lake Tahoe Police Department for almost 20 years, said he had never seen anything like it.
