In California, a teenager brought a dangerous drug to school: an employee of the institution was injured

A 13-year-old California student was arrested after bringing fentanyl to school, which led to an overdose on an employee of the educational institution, reports FoxNews.

The Bakersfield Police Department responded to an incident at Chipman High School on September 9 after the school said a student had about 150 fentanyl tablets disguised as Percocet.

The pills were found after a student was searched in a non-drug related altercation with another student, which resulted in the school principal finding the pills and inadvertently inhaling the substance. Police say a school employee did not swallow the pills, but opened a bottle of pills to test it, and was intoxicated due to the pills being "a hazard when inhaled".

The school staff member was transferred to a local hospital for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

Police say the student who had the fentanyl pills disguised as Percocet also had about $300 in it, though police were unable to immediately tell if any of the pills were sold or given to other students. The investigation was still ongoing.
