An underwater city with a 60-meter-deep pool was built in Dubai: a video walk through the attraction
Dubai, which already has the tallest skyscraper in the world and the largest shopping center in the world, has opened another record attraction - the deepest diving pool in the world. Writes about it CNN.
The pool with a stunning 60 meters (196 feet) depth, part of the new Deep Dive Dubai, has broken the Polish company Deepspot's record with a depth of over 45 meters.
Filled with 14 million liters of fresh water (the volume of six Olympic-sized pools), Deep Dive Dubai is at least four times larger than any other diving pool in the world. The Guinness Book of Records Commission awarded him the title of "Deepest Diving Pool" on June 27.
The facility is currently open by invitation only, but will open to the public later this year. Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, an avid diver, was one of the first visitors and shared his experience on social media.
The water temperature is maintained at 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit), which is comfortable for wearing a thin wetsuit or swimsuit.
Sunken City and Underwater Film Studio
The indoor pool is located inside an oyster-shaped structure of 1500 square meters, a tribute to the history of the United Arab Emirates as a country of pearl diving.
But Deep Dive Dubai's biggest star is the underwater city of the basin. Divers can explore the "abandoned" apartments of the sunken city and play the underwater pool in the arcade. Modern lighting and sound systems have been installed inside the pool to create a different ambience.
The pool also serves as an underwater film studio - the largest of its kind in the region. There is a media editorial room adjacent to the facility.
Deep Dive Dubai offers courses for both beginners and certified divers. They can explore the pool and underwater city on their own after a tour with one of the on-site diving guides.
About 56 cameras have been installed around the pool to ensure the safety of divers at every corner. It also houses the region's most advanced pressure chamber for 12 people in case of an emergency.
“There are quite a few deep diving pools in the world, but this one is much more interesting,” said Jarrod Jablonski, Director of Deep Dive Dubai. - It is not only the deepest and largest. The sunken city effect makes it a new word in this world. There are so many things here that it really isn't fair to call it just a pool. "
