The long-awaited Star Wars Park: The Edge of the Galaxy was presented at a special ceremony in Disneyland California last night on May 29.
At the opening of the attraction were Disney CEO Bob Iger, as well as the iconic personalities of Star Wars George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Billie Dee Williams, writes CBS.
“It's amazing, this is something we couldn't even dream of 20 years ago,” Lucas said.
“Isn't that fantastic!” Added Yeager.
Galaxy's Edge is an adventure on the planet Batuu, a distant world in the latest Star Wars trilogy, and the Resistance's fight against the evil First Order. The sprawling 14-acre (5,7 ha) attraction features three distinct areas: Resistance, First Order, and Village.

In addition, there you can try food on the Star Wars theme, stroll through the Black Spire outpost market and ride the Millennium Falcon.
Guests get into the cabin of the Millennium Falcon, an exact replica of a ship from films longer than 100 feet (30,5 m). The interactive screen allows a crew of six to control the spacecraft.
“I want guests to realize that their dreams are coming true. For 40 years, people have dreamed of flying the Millennium Falcon. And you can actually fly it. You will become a pilot, shooter, engineer. You are the team that propels this ship, ”said project leader Nick Ross.

Guests can create their own droids and lightsabers and interact with aliens. They can take a sip of the very same blue milk that appeared on Luke Skywalker in the movie Star Wars: A New Hope. This lactose-free milk is a frozen mixture with citrus notes.
“You will see many iconic lighting fixtures from films, including material from Resistance and First Order. Everything you see is 100% authentic and made for Star Wars, ”said lighting designer Noah Holliday.
Disney officials said it took them more than five years to develop and build an attraction, which, according to the company, is the largest and “most technologically advanced attraction on a single theme” that ever existed in any of their parks.
Galaxy's Edge will open to the public on 31 May. However, due to the widespread popularity, an advance booking will be required to visit the attraction until June 23. Starting from 24 Jun, booking is not required.
The second attraction, “Star Wars: The Growth Of Resistance,” will open in Disneyland later this year.
