In Chicago, the march of veterans was held under the Ukrainian flag
Ukrainians, veterans of the US military, took part in a military parade in Chicago. The parade is dedicated to the American Memorial Day.
Ukrainian-American veterans marched along one of the main streets of downtown Chicago, carrying Ukrainian and American flags in front. The public greeted the column with applause, some shouted “Ukraine!”, Veterans chanted “Glory to Ukraine!” in response.
Before the start of the parade, the Ukrainian veterans visited the cemetery of St. Nicholas, where they replaced all the old army flags on the graves of veterans.
Every May, the United States celebrates Memorial Day, a national holiday dedicated to the memory of American military personnel who died in all wars and armed conflicts in which the United States took part.
Celebrations were also held in the USA for Victory Day 9 May.
