The newest amphibious catamaran of the US Navy entered the Black Sea. A PHOTO
One of the newest US amphibious ships, the catamaran USNS Carson City T-EPF-7, entered the Black Sea on August 15. This was reported by the Turkish website Yörük Işık, writes the publication “Today«.
This ship is the seventh and newest ship of this type. He was accepted into service by the US Navy in June 2016 and participated in the BALTOPS exercises in the Baltic Sea in 2018.
The catamaran can take aboard the Marine Corps battalion and is equipped with a helipad. Its length - 103 meter, width 28,5, sediment 3,8 meter, reaches speeds up to 80 km per hour.
