USCIS Significantly Expands Immigration Case Tracking: What Has Changed
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced changes to its notice of processing times. Applicants will now be able to see at a glance how long it will take to process their application. This is stated in a USCIS press release.
“USCIS is committed to listening to applicants and stakeholders and is constantly improving its services,” said USCIS Director Ur Jaddu. “This is an important step, and by no means the last, in increasing the clarity and transparency of our service data to the public.”
Office Published processing times help you understand how long it might take to process a particular form.

The estimated processing time for a particular form is based on how long it took USCIS to approve or reject a certain percentage of completed cases for that form in the previous six-month period.
You can check typical processing times by link. If you have already submitted one of the forms and would like to see how the case is progressing, please check link.
Applicants can immediately find information about processing times for their particular type of case, rather than browsing through a lot of data.
Additional changes:
- added form category search option to help narrow search results to processing time only;
- Added a case inquiry tool where the user can enter the date of application and receive an immediate response;
- processing time is displayed to simplify the information provided and improve users' ability to estimate how long it will take USCIS to process a request;
- a new FAQ page and improved additional information page.
In this case, the processing time will not necessarily be within the specified limits and is intended for informational purposes only. Each case is unique and some cases take longer than others depending on the facts of the particular case.
