The government of Lola's hometown of Kabankalan in Negros Occidental has confirmed the news.

The documents indicate that she was born on September 11, 1897, a year before the Spaniards gave up their rule over the Philippines.

Lola will always remain our inspiration and pride,” the city government’s press service wrote on Facebook.
