Ukrainian staged a bloody performance on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival: security had to intervene
On May 21, during the premiere of director Just Philippot’s film “Acid” at the Cannes Film Festival, Ukrainian fitness blogger Ilona Chernobay, dressed in a dress in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, doused herself with artificial blood in protest against the war unleashed by Russia, reports bykvu.

Chernobay said that the purpose of her bloody performance at the Cannes Film Festival was a reminder that the war in her native country is still going on, and the world should not be indifferent to this.
“On the red carpet of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, I walked out in a dress in the colors of our flag and poured red paint over myself. I used my chance and with this act I reminded what is happening in Ukraine. People should not forget about us,” the message says.
According to Chernobay, such an anti-war action was aimed at supporting the occupied territories and the Ukrainians living there. “All the people of Ukraine,” she added.

The blogger criticized the fact that Russian bloggers and producers walk along the red carpet of the film festival, who were allowed to present their films.

Chernobay also stressed that now she is banned from entering the festival and many other events, but she does not regret it. “I'm proud of myself for what I did. Although it was very scary,” she concluded.
