Ukraine has expanded the list of prohibited to import Russian goods

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is expanding the list of goods that are prohibited from being imported from the Russian Federation. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk, opening the government meeting.

“Today the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is making a decision to expand the list of goods that are prohibited for import from the Russian Federation. We are talking about an additional list of more than seventy product items. These are countermeasures to the economic aggression of the Russian Federation, and we will continue to defend our domestic market,” Yatsenyuk said.

On the eve of the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Aivaras Abromavicius said that the sanctions against Russian goods will be mirrored. At the same time, Ukraine will not restrict the transit of Russian goods through its territory.

Also, the Ministry of Economic Development reported that the Russian Federation is returning transit wagons with Ukrainian goods and introducing new requirements for Ukrainian drivers of transit trucks.

As previously wrote ForumDaily, c 1 January 2016, Russia stopped supplies of Ukrainian goods. In response, Ukraine has banned the import of Russian goods, the government decree entered into force on January 10 and will be valid until August 5 of 2016.

The ban included supplies of food: meat, fish, a number of dairy products, processed cheeses, coffee, tea, food mixes, confectionery and bakery products, baby food, pasta, sauces; flavoring additives and seasonings, beer, alcohol, vodka, dog food, filter cigarettes.

In the 2014 year under действие The Russian embargo included EU countries, the USA, Australia, Canada and Norway, which introduced own economic sanctions against Moscow due to the annexation of the Crimea and the conflict in the east of Ukraine.

In August 2015, the list of countries for which Russia imposed a food embargo, has been expanded Albania, Montenegro, Iceland and Liechtenstein, which joined the sanctions against Russia.
