The killer of the MS-13 gang returned to New York after the deportation and was arrested by ICE
In 2000, William Humberto Martinez Chavez committed a murder on Long Island in New York, during which he spent ten years in prison and was deported from the country. He managed to break through to the United States, but on April 17 Chavez was arrested in Huntington by US Immigration and Customs officers.
Chavez, 40, who has distinctive tattoos on his chest and stomach reading “Mara Salvatrucha” and “MS-13,” was convicted in 2000 of manslaughter in the stabbing death of a man, he writes. Fox News. In October 2017, after serving a term, he was deported to El Salvador, where he was from. The offender was able to return to America and came to the same city where he committed the murder.
When 2 was arrested again in April, a Mexican driver's license was found with a photo and a name. When Chavez was taken into custody, officials compared his fingerprints and determined that they coincide with the data obtained in 2000 and 2017.
According to the police, Chavez admitted that he had previously been a member of the MS-13 gang, but he was no longer. He claimed that he joined the gang only for self-defense while he was in prison.
This time, Chavez was charged with illegal entry into the United States. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
“Martinez Chavez is a known MS-13 gang member who was convicted of manslaughter, served his time, and was deported from the United States. He returned to the same streets after illegally entering the United States,” said ICE spokesman Thomas Decker.
“It is the job of brave ICE officers to take those who violate the laws of this country off the streets and see them taken back to their home countries,” the officer added.
