Biden was diagnosed with COVID-19: he is in isolation and takes medication

US President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19. He is isolated in the White House and will continue to perform all his duties during this time. This is stated in statement by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on the official website.

Biden is fully vaccinated, boosted twice and is experiencing very mild symptoms. According to Jean-Pierre, the president has already started taking Paxlovid.

Biden continues to work, but now remotely.

“He contacted White House staff by phone this morning and will participate in scheduled meetings via phone and Zoom from the residence,” Jean-Pierre said.

In accordance with the White House protocol for positive cases of COVID-19, he will continue to work in isolation until he receives a negative test result.

Jean-Pierre noted that the White House will provide daily updates on the president's condition.

Under the same protocol, the White House Medical Department will update all of the president's close contacts throughout the day, including all members of Congress and members of the press who spoke to the president during his previous trip.

The president's last previous test for COVID-19 was done on July 19 and it was negative.
