Tourists from the USA sneaked into the Colosseum at night for a beer

Two American tourists entered the Colosseum early in the morning for a beer. Writes about it with the BBC.

They were seen seated on the second ring of the ancient gladiatorial stadium at approximately 05:30 local time.

At night, entry to the nearly 2000-year-old monument is prohibited.

Both tourists are a little over 20 years old. The police will not release their names. The tourists were fined 800 euros ($ 905) after they admitted to having illegally entered the Colosseum.

This was perhaps the most expensive beer in the life of these madmen.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on tourism, the Colosseum remains one of Italy's most visited attractions.

It was the largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire, known for hosting gladiatorial fights and other public performances in front of tens of thousands of spectators.
