Donald Trump announced that the head of the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Kirsten Nielsen leaves his post. She has held this position since December 2017.

Former Acting Director of the Immigration and Customs Control (ICE), Thomas Homan, said that President Trump did the right thing, replacing Kristen Nielsen as DHS head with former customs and border control commissioner Kevin McAlinan. Fox News.

Trump did not explain the reasons for the dismissal, but people familiar with the situation claim that it was caused by the crisis on the southern border of the United States due to the growing number of illegal immigrants Nielsen could not cope with.

Homan called MacAlinan one of the smartest people he worked with.

More recently, he threatened to close this checkpoint, but has since retreated and promised to give Mexico a year to stop the illegal importation of drugs and the entry of illegal migrants into the United States.

The US president insists that the situation on the southern border is in crisis, and declared a state of emergency in the country to provide funding for his plan to build the border wall, bypassing Congress.

Parliamentarians condemned this step and adopted a resolution on its abolition. In response, Donald Trump vetoed Congress resolution for the first time in two years of presidency.

The president had to use the state of emergency to allocate billions of dollars to build a wall on the border with Mexico.

Kirsten nielsen added to the list of employees that the Trump administration hasn't worked with.
