These elections in the United States are largely iconic. Here are the records and anti-records. For the first time, one of the parties nominates a female candidate. And for the first time, “excessive carelessness” of the applicant for the main position in the country is being investigated by the Federal Security Service. According to opinion polls, the Americans would like to see Hillary in the defendants' bench in this regard, Americans are experiencing a certain awkwardness, and even more so, most of them (56%). There is a simple logic: if at the position of Secretary of State Hillary could show "carelessness", if she could allow herself unprotected from hackers business correspondence, can we expect from her the appropriateness of the president? Or can US secretaries be mined, for example, by ubiquitous Russian hackers?

Hillary is also imperfect because she is too understandable. “This is a collection of clichés,” say dissatisfied American journalists. Boring, predictable, and even “Clinton in the White House again.”

In short, Hillary does not make a brilliant impression.

However, she seems to be a dazzling goddess on the background of a man with a bangs dyed in a radical red color and the absence of any brakes.

This campaign is truly a fight against ratings. The best doesn't win here. The worst loses here. If Hillary had a more respectable opponent, she would, of course, have a hard time. Just 2 years ago, smart American political scientists, unaware of the approaching red hurricane, predicted the triumph of conservatives in the 2016 presidential elections. The country was moving towards this, political scientists were not mistaken. They only underestimated the level of protest of a certain part of American society. Dissatisfaction with the sugary peacefulness of the current president and fatigue from all kinds of threats (external and internal), anger and denial have led America to a situation in which crazy ultra-conservatives are defeating moderate, respectable conservatives who naively relied on the gray Jeb Bush at the beginning of the campaign. As a result, the Donald Trump nomination ceremony itself - and this is another anti-record - turned into the most quarrelsome, hysterical and stupid political show of recent decades.

What was the cost of Melania Trump alone, which Donald reserved as a trump card for his coronation - and she took and copied a speech by Michelle Obama given at the same Barak nomination ceremony 8 years ago. “It turned out,” concluded my democrat friend with enthusiasm, “that this whole conservative party applauded the thoughts and values ​​of a completely liberal lady.”

Or here’s another thing: in the first days of the Republican Party Convention, some of the delegates tried to disrupt Trump’s nomination - for some reason it seemed to them that pathetic machinations and persuasion would rid the party of an extremely unstable businessman, the owner of a foggy past and an equally foggy future. But it didn’t happen - all the efforts of the powerful conservative establishment in the United States were not enough to influence the choice of the citizens of this country. Party heavyweights, such as Bush Sr., pointedly did not appear at the convention in Cleveland. and Bush Jr. (and this is a scandal). But Texas Senator Ted Cruz appeared and even took the stage. But he also gave Trump a “surprise” by not calling on those gathered to vote for Donald. “Vote according to your conscience,” Cruz (also, by the way, not a particularly pleasant, but quite a systemic politician), who really hopes to become president in 2020, wisely suggested.

In short, the congress was bad.

But from this place begins what is really important for us - people from the post-Soviet world. The fact is that all this political fuss is absolutely impossible in Russia.

Just because the applicants for the main seat in the state cannot be embarrassed. After all, they do not present us wives (whatever). We know in advance that all at one moment any significant figures will speak the right words at the right moment, clap in the right places, agree with all the comments / suggestions made by the most likely candidate for the post of commander-in-chief, we will definitely not see any investigations by the FSB regarding possible head of state and most importantly, we will not see any race. Because it is simply impossible to overtake and overtake the main candidate.

In September, when Russia chooses the State Duma, it will be extremely boring for us, because we will all know in advance.

My friends in New York roll their eyes in horror and discuss with almost unfeigned seriousness “where America is heading, since Donald Trump got to the nomination”. Friends, believe me, everything is cool with you! America is not going anywhere. She will not choose Trump - this is the first. Secondly, thanks to this vigorous man with a beautiful, but stupid wife - in the White House and Congress, they will understand the degree of tension in society and draw conclusions.

Listen, friends, do you think that Trump is a disaster? Do you compare it with Zhirinovsky? Seriously? Imagine that Donald goes on the air of national TV and says that the attacks in Europe are "beneficial" for his country (as the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party did). Imagine that Trump, selflessly, in a tide of patriotic hysteria, screaming like the Russian policy “Let them die!”. Imagine that the author of the direct appeal (or at least approval) of the mass destruction of innocent people is erected during a lifetime in the United States of America. No, this is incredible. But it happens before our eyes in the Russian Federation.

Donald Trump is a calculating cynic. He says what they want to hear from him. But in the USA, even the most stagnant outcasts, even the most hopeless “rednecks,” will not accept and do not understand the approval of terror.

Even the anti-campaign 2016 in the US by default implies a fight for every vote. Moscow regularly objects to arguments about a complex electoral system that allegedly allows the political establishment to control the course of elections. “I’m not going to mention the topic of the archaic election system in the United States, which is intrusive in the teeth,” Sergey Lavrov told me back in 2013.

3 of the year passed, and the Trump phenomenon proved: no party elites, no lobbyists, and no White House, along with Congress, can prevent the voter from his irresponsible but firm decision.

On Monday, the Party Congress of the US Democratic Party began. There certainly will also be all sorts of nonsense and embarrassment. This almost Hollywood show will be watched by millions of people across the country - as is the case with the Republican convention. And after viewing, they will argue: at home and in transport, on squares and on television, thousands of articles will be written, thousands of TV programs will be edited. So the current campaign, of course, puts anti-records, but this does not make it any less exciting. US citizens will go to the polls and will determine the fate of their country. Their choice is rather dull, but it is.
