Tests, quarantine, online questionnaires: Russia has changed the conditions of entry into the country

Starting from July 7, all Russian citizens who return to the Russian Federation from abroad are no longer required to undergo 2 PCR tests for COVID-19. This is stated on the page Facebook of the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in the United States.

Russians will only have to take 1 test within 3 days of arrival, while in self-isolation until a negative result is obtained.

At the same time, those who have recently undergone COVID-19 or have been vaccinated do not need to take the test.

"If there is vaccination within the last 12 months or information about the COVID-19 disease transferred in the last six months, a laboratory test by PCR is not required," says the decree of the chief sanitary doctor of the Russian Federation dated July 2, 2021, No. 17, writes RBC.

Information about a past illness or vaccination is posted on the Unified portal of public services based on information received from the unified state information system in the field of health.

But social network users note that they have encountered problems. Since Russia does not recognize COVID-19 vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer. Also, the Russians write that data on the transfer of the disease abroad are not counted, which creates problems. Some are thinking about re-vaccination with the Russian "Sputnik" in order to safely visit their homeland. Others are postponing their visits until the situation becomes clearer.

Entry for foreigners

According to the website of the Russian Embassies and Consulates in the United States, the Russian government requires all travelers to present a negative PCR test for COVID-19 upon arrival, dated no earlier than three days prior to arrival in Russia. These results can be in English and electronically. Foreigners should also fill out the attached form, print and present at customs upon arrival in Russia.
