The US Research Center has released a new series of maps on which you can see: immigrants from which countries came to America in different years. So, in the 1850-s, immigrants from Ireland were in the lead, in the middle of the XX-th century - from Italy and the USSR, in the 2013 year - from Mexico.

The total population in 1950 year has doubled compared with 1900 year and amounted to 150,2 million people. Of these, 10,3 has a million immigrants.

In 2000, the situation with migrants has changed dramatically compared to 1900 and 1950 years. Mexicans made up more than nine million people. They were followed by the Chinese - 1,1 million immigrants, and Filipinos - 1,4 million people.

The US population has grown to 281,4 a million people, among which foreigners made up 31,1 a million people.

Another interesting aspect is the percentage ratio of the number of immigrants to the total population of America. So, in 1970, the number of people born outside the US of America dropped to minus 4,7%.
