Eurovision Judge 2016 admitted that she mistakenly gave Jamala 12 points
The Eurovision 2016 judge representing Denmark, Hilda Hake, admitted that she mistakenly gave Ukraine 12 points, confusing it with Australia.
The jury members had to rank the countries on a list from 1 to 26, putting the song they liked the most first, and the song they liked the least on 26, but Hilda Heick did the opposite, not fully understanding the voting principle, the site reports Eurovisionworld.com.
“This is my mistake, and I honestly admit it, but I want to emphasize that I am not out of my mind yet, although some people write on Facebook that I should resign and that I don’t understand anything at all,” Hake said.
He stated that in the future he was going to completely distance himself from everything related to Eurovision.
If we take into account the mistake of the judge from Denmark and completely recalculate the participants’ points, it turns out that Ukraine is ahead of Australia not by 23 points, as announced, but by 9 (Ukraine has 522 points, Australia has 513, Russia has 494).

Thus, even with this amendment, the rating of the participants would not change, and Jamal would be the winner of “Eurovision-2016”.
