Shooting in Texas: 20 people killed in Walmart store

As a result of the shooting in a shopping center in the city of El Paso (Texas), 20 people were killed, more than 20 were injured, state governor Greg Abbot said. RBC with reference to CNN.

The three dead are Mexicans, six more citizens of this country were injured in the shooting, Reuters reports citing Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and the Foreign Ministry.

Shooting at the mall opened on Saturday, 3 July. The suspect was detained, it turned out to be 21-year-old Patrick Crusius. The shooter hit the surveillance cameras, the frames show how he enters the building with weapons in his hands. KTSM 9 has posted photos from CCTV cameras on which the shooter is allegedly captured.

In social networks spread the manifesto, allegedly written by the shooter. The author of the document opposes migrants and speaks of sympathies in support of the shooter from New Zealand, who killed a 51 man in March of this year, writes The Washington Post. CNN sources claim that law enforcement officers are studying the manifesto, at the moment it is not confirmed that its author is Crusius.

After the shooting, Facebook deleted the suspect's accounts.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said he would not be surprised if the suspect was the author of the manifesto. “I think this can shed light on why he did it,” Paxton told CNN.

The attacker was taken into custody "without incident." El Paso police spokesman Robert Gomez believes that most of the victims were killed in the shopping center. According to him, at the time of the incident, there were about 3 thousands of people there.

Initially, the police received reports of several shooters, but later law enforcement officers said that the attacker was alone.
