Shooting in California: two dead, five injured, many in critical condition

Two people were killed and four out of five were seriously injured on July 24 afternoon in a shooting near a car dealership in San Pedro Park, reports Foxla.

Shootings were reported in Peck Park shortly before 16:00 pm on 24 July. LAPD investigators estimated that 500 people gathered in the park for an authorized car show and softball game during the shooting.

The LAPD has confirmed that the department has issued a citywide tactical alert for the mass shooting in the park.

Investigators believe the shooting started over a dispute between two parties in Peck Park, Los Angeles Police Department Captain Kelly Muniz said at a press conference. “We continue to clear the park of evidence and potential victims,” she said.

At a press conference on July 24 in the evening, the LAFD confirmed that two people had died, but did not disclose any information about the casualties. They also said the LAPD was investigating the possibility that there were multiple shooters, noting that multiple firearms were found at the scene.

The LAFD confirmed that of the seven victims at the scene, four were men and three were women. All seven victims were taken to regional hospitals, two died, four are in critical condition.

The names of the victims were not disclosed, they are from 24 to 53 years old.
