Shooting in Chicago: 34 Wounded and 5 Killed in One Weekend

At least 34 people were victims of unrelated shootings in Chicago last weekend and the day before, from the evening of May 24 to the end of the day of May 26. Five of them died. The age of the victims ranges from 15 to 45 years.

The first case occurred on Friday evening, 24 May. 15-year-old boy and 27-year-old man received gunshot wounds when walking down the street in South Sawyer. Both victims were taken to hospital, where their condition has stabilized, reports Fox News with reference to The Chicago Tribune.

The report said at least nine other people were wounded by gunfire late on May 9. The age of the victims in these shooting episodes ranged from 24 to 17 years.

The first fatality occurred around 18:30 pm on May 25 when a gunman opened fire on a 29-year-old man standing on the porch of a house. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one has been detained in this case.

Around 22 p.m., two men were hit by bullets from a passing car. Both were taken to hospital, but only one survived. Hours later, police responded to a disturbance call in which a man was shot while standing on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police reported that two men and two women between the ages of 25 and 31 received gunshot wounds around 6 in the morning hours on Sunday, 26 in May.

All four victims were taken to the hospital, where the men died and the condition of the women stabilized. Police seized weapons, and the suspect is in custody.
