Belarusians managed to win around 1 400 green cards, Tajiks get 1 200 units, Georgians got 1 100 residence permit, Kazakhs - about 1000, and Azeris slightly more than 900.

In the most closed country of the former Soviet Union - Turkmenistan, 300 green cards will be sent. If there were no such problems with Internet connection in Turkmenistan, then perhaps there would be more winners, but since the citizens of this country simply cannot send an application for participation in DV, then the gain, respectively, is small.

In addition, many Turkmen, who still have the Internet, are afraid to go to the US State Department website so that they are not considered “spies of the West”. Although, in fact, the citizens of Turkmenistan have a lot of chances to win.

Least of all green cards across the entire post-Soviet space goes to Estonian citizens. The number of Estonians who received the prize in the lottery is only about 60 people.

Estonians prefer developed countries of the European Union for emigration. Another reason for such a small number of won green cards can be called a small population of the country - about 1,3 million people live here.

Future lottery

It is still completely unclear whether the next lottery will be held, which is scheduled for October-November 2018, or the Republicans will achieve the abolition of DV. According to experts, the probability that the rally will be, is 60-70%.

Republicans in Congress believe that canceling the lottery will save taxpayers money and protect the country from unwanted migrants. But at the same time, it will be extremely difficult to abolish the lottery completely at the legislative level.

1. Visit the website of the US State Department - this is where the results of the visa drawing are checked (www.dvlottery.state.gov). Click the Check Status link.

2. The link will take you to the welcome page for the participants. Here you should click Continue.

3. On the page that opens next, you must enter your personal data: your individual number assigned when sending the request (Confirmation number), last name (without a name and in English), year of birth and verification code. Click the Submit button.

4. And the moment of truth comes:

• If your application was winning, you will see the following inscription: "You have been randomly selected for further processing ...".
• If the application did not win, then the inscription will be as follows: “Based on the information provided, it will not be selected for further processing ...”
