USA bans issuing seasonal work visas to Moldovan citizens
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Department of State have removed Moldova from the list of countries whose residents are eligible for the H-2A and H-2B visa programs. This is stated on US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) website.
According to the ministry, Moldova no longer meets the requirements for participation in the program. However, it is noted that Moldova's right to participate in the H-2A program remains in effect until January 18, 2022. And participation in the H-2B program for Moldova is currently prohibited.
The innovation does not affect those who are already in the United States under this program, but will affect those who apply for a visa extension after Moldova is removed from the list.

The H-2A and H-2B visa programs allow U.S. employers to bring foreign nationals to the United States to fill temporary agricultural and non-agricultural jobs. Typically, USCIS only approves H-2A and H-2B petitions for nationals of countries that the head of the Department of Homeland Security has identified as eligible for the programs. Approval of applications is also possible for citizens of countries that are not on the list. But such an issue is resolved on an individual basis and only if it is in the interests of the United States.
DHS has the right to add countries to the list at any time, or remove countries if the country does not meet the requirements for continuing to participate in the program.

A country can be removed from the list for fraud, abuse, frequent overstay, problems with human trafficking, and other forms of non-compliance with the conditions of the visa program by citizens of that country that are contrary to the interests of the United States.
In addition to Moldova, the status of some other countries has changed. Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Cyprus, the Dominican Republic (eligible only for the H-2A program), Haiti, Mauritius and Saint Lucia were added to the list of countries eligible for the H-2A and H-2B programs.
