"Special Edition": Apple introduced the new iPhone SE

At Apple's presentation in Cupertino, California, a new iPhone with a 4-inch (10 cm) screen, called iPhone SE, was presented. This is the first ever “special version” of the iPhone, as the acronym stands for Special Edition.

The most compact product of the company since 2013 was presented personally by the head of Apple, Tim Cook. The most recent four-inch screen model has been the iPhone 5S.

Over the course of 9 years, Apple smartphones have gone from screens with a diagonal of 3,5 to 5,5 inches in the sixth generation of iPhones. In fact, the iPhone SE is a symbiosis of the fifth and sixth iPhone models - with the design of the 5S and the hardware of the 6S (processor plus graphics).

All the more unusual is the reverse marketing move of Apple, which is accustomed to living up to the motto “thinner, bigger, faster.” The new smartphone is noticeably smaller than the previous version.

At the same time, the speed of the new iPhone is twice as high as the iPhone 5S. It has a built-in camera for 12 megapixels, which allows you to shoot videos in the resolution of 4K.

In addition, the new iPhone has the ability to communicate with the personal assistant Siri hands-free thanks to hands-free technology.

In the last quarter of last year, Apple, despite the release of the 6S model, showed the lowest growth rate in iPhone sales in recent years. Analysts did not exclude that in 2016 sales will decline for the first time since the release of the first model in 2007.

Prices for the new iPhone start at $399 (memory - 16 GB). Sales start on March 31, orders will be accepted from March 24.

In addition, Tim Cook introduced on Monday a new version of the iPad Pro tablet with a diagonal of 9,7 inches (about 24,5 cm), which is also smaller than the previous Pro model (12,9 inches). Features include a brighter screen and greater color saturation.

When working with the new iPad Pro, you can use an electronic stylus pencil and keyboard.

In addition, a feature of the display of the new iPad Pro is support for True Tone Display technology, which will allow the display to automatically adjust to current lighting and change colors.
