In fact, the banana was a work of art by the Italian artist Maurizio Cattelana under the name "Comedian" and was previously sold to a French collector for $ 120 000.

An American artist of Georgian descent, David Datuna, who lives in New York, posted a video on his Instagram account, which shows how he approaches a banana and removes it from the wall.

“An artistic performance... a hungry artist,” he said, peeling the fruit and taking a bite. “Thank you, it’s very tasty.”

A few witnesses could be heard giggling before an excited gallery representative arrived at the scene. The incident was quickly and peacefully resolved.
