Hundreds of American writers signed an open letter against Donald Trump
472 American writers supported the petition against Donald Trump, who in three days collected more than 8 thousands of signatures from various literary figures.
An open letter to the American people states the following:
We, the undersigned, by the dictates of our conscience, strongly oppose the candidacy of Donald Trump for the presidency of the United States. As writers, we understand better than others the possibility of language abuse in the name of (achievement) of power. We believe that, despite the grim pages of our history, the essence of the American experiment from the very beginning was to rally people, and not to pit them with each other.
Among the signatories are horror king Stephen King, who has long criticized a candidate on Twitter.
King's Favorite Quotes:
The conservatives, who for 8 years sowed the dragon's teeth of party politics, found out in horror that a real dragon had grown out of them.
Trump is a grumpy idiot who has no real understanding of how government works. He is a consensus destroyer, not a consensus creator. Calling him unqualified (for the presidency) is like calling me unqualified to teach quantum physics. I've already talked about this several times on my Twitter. He is a disgrace to the Republican Party and a bad deal for America.
Protests against Donald Trump were not limited to criticism on the Internet. In the state of New Mexico speeches opponents trump outgrew in clashes with the police.
