Frosts swept the East Coast on Friday while the region was trying to get rid of the effects of the blizzard and hurricane wind, writes NBC.

Meteorologists predict in the coming days a strong wind and record-breaking cold temperatures in the entire territory from the Mid-Atlantic States to New England, which will last the whole weekend.

Frosts from minus 15 degrees to minus 25 degrees await the city from Philadelphia to Boston. In Maryland and Virginia is expected from minus 10 to minus 15 degrees.

The National Weather Service reported that temperatures could drop to minus 35 degrees at Berkshire Hills in western Massachusetts due to cold winds.

The storm began a few days ago in the Gulf of Mexico and reached Florida for the first time. On Thursday, due to a warning about a snowstorm, a state of emergency was declared along the East Coast. Wind gusts reached more than 113 km / h, in some places the snow reached 46 centimeters.

Because of the snowstorm, schools were closed, flights and trains were canceled, there were interruptions in the work of public utilities, but now many of them have managed to return to normal operation.

It is noted that flights resumed at airports along the East Coast after hundreds of flights were canceled on Thursday. Also on Friday, flights to and from Logan International Airport in Boston, Kennedy Airport in New York and Bradley Airport in Connecticut were resumed.

In New Jersey, gusty winds provoked a massive fire. On Friday morning, the building caught fire, the wind spread fire to two neighboring buildings. Two firefighters received minor injuries.

In Jackson, Mississippi, because of frosts, they could not stand it and the pipes burst in Mississippi's Capitol . In South Florida, iguanas freeze and fall from the trees because of the cold. In Georgia, the snow reached centimeters 15.

In New England, strong winds provoked coastal flooding that flooded marinas and restaurants on the shore.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recorded record water levels, 4,89 feet higher than the cold-weather average.

On the island of Block on Rhode Island snow drifts were recorded on Thursday.

As a result, the blizzard killed at least 7 people.

Four died in North Carolina and South Carolina due to the fact that the car skidded on a snowy road. Another death was in Philadelphia also due to a traffic accident. The car could not brake and crashed into the train. The passenger died in the car, no one was hurt in the train. Two more people died in Virginia.

In the north of New England this weekend the temperature will be below zero. In Burlington, Vermont, Saturday will be minus 5.

Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia expect temperatures from minus 15 to minus 20 degrees.
