Media - Russian ships escorted a Canadian corvette with the prime minister on board
Two Russian warships were escorted by a Canadian corvette Fredericton, on board which was supposed to be Prime Minister Stephen Harper. It is reported by Bloomberg.
The incident occurred in the Baltic Sea, when a Canadian ship was heading to Poland for the upcoming exercises.
According to Commander Jeff Murray, the ships passed no more than seven nautical miles and did not jeopardize the life of the Prime Minister.
“This is normal and expected for them, so act in the Baltic Sea,” said Murray. “But what exactly they did, I cannot say.”
Earlier, three US Air Force bombers arrived in the UK for exercises near the borders with Russia.
