The strongest hurricane in the history of the Atlantic, Irma, changed the trajectory of movement

Hurricane fifth category Irma again gained strength, approaching the British Leeward Islands, and threatens to collapse in their territory with wind force at 185 miles per hour (298 km per hour).

According to the National Hurricane Center, this wind speed makes Irma the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Atlantic Ocean, writes CBS.

Four other hurricanes in the Atlantic developed wind power to similar speeds, but at the moments of their greatest strength they were either in the Caribbean or in the Gulf of Mexico, and not on the ground.

Hurricane Allen had 190 miles per hour wind speed (306 km per hour) in 1980 year, Wilma (2005 year), Gilbert (1988 year) and another hurricane in Florida in 1935 had wind power in 185 miles per hour (298 km at one o'clock).

Experts say Irma's strength is the result of unusually warm water for that part of the Atlantic.

According to forecasts, the warm water of the Florida Strait can still increase the hurricane, in which the wind speed can reach 225 miles per hour when flushing to Florida (362 km per hour).

At the same time, 6, September, forecasters announced that the predicted trajectory of the Irma movement has changed to the east, and now after the collapse of Florida, it threatens not the states facing the Gulf of Mexico, but the southern part of the United States east coast.
