The safest airline in the world, according to the rating on the site AirlineRatings.comrecognized by Qantas.
The top 20 also hit (in alphabetical order) Air New Zealand, Alaska Airlines, All Nippon Airways, American Airlines, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Emirates, EVA Air, Finnair, Hawaiian Airlines, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Scandinavian Airline System, Singapore Airlines, Swiss Airlines, United Airlines and Virgin Group (Atlantic Australia).
"It's incredible that Qantas has been the top airline in virtually every major aviation safety ranking for the past 60 years and has not had a single fatality in the entire jet era," said Jeffrey Thomas, editor-in-chief of AirlineRatings.com.
Qantas topped the ranking of the safest airlines in the world from 2014 to 2017 a year, in 2018, the company shared first place.
The site also lists 10 of the safest low-cost airlines, including Flybe, Frontier, HK Express, Jetblue, Jetstar Australia / Asia, Thomas Cook, Volaris, Vueling, Westjet and Wizz.
To compile the rating, AirlineRatings.com used official audit data, information on failures and serious incidents, as well as profitability to compile the rating. The site analyzed the data of 405 airlines.
